How to Use Twitter: A Few eLearning Courses
A few months ago, after many colleagues, friends and family members asked me to help them get started on Twitter, I made a quick screen capture and narration course that I could email links to easily and share widely. Since then, people have viewed the free video course hundreds and hundreds of times both in the OpenSesame catalog and on YouTube.
After seeing the wide demand, I was inspired to create a more usable course (now with navigation!) that still quickly covered the basic functionality of my favorite social network. As a result, I'm thrilled to share Beginning Twitter for Professionals, now updated and live in the OpenSesame catalog. To view it, create an account on OpenSesame and click "Preview" on the course page.
If you are interested in sharing these resources with your colleagues, please feel free to "purchase" a free site license to the course, which will allow you to download a .zip file of the course and add it to your LMS with full functionality.
Using Twitter for Professionals, Part 2
After reviewing feedback from the first course, I realized that one of the biggest challenges new Twitter users face is finding lively conversations and interactions in order to develop relationships with other Twitter users. So I created a sequel, which shares suggestions on finding people of interest and using Twitter effectively (view it here).
Twitter is incredibly valuable for networking, connecting and learning and we're thrilled to share our tips and best practices for getting the most out of it. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have questions or suggestions for improvements.
