Meet Content Specialist Max!
OpenSesame’s dedicated blog readers may find my face familiar. I am part of the content team at OpenSesame, actively building and maintaining our seller community on the marketplace. I joined OpenSesame two years ago in 2012, and I am continuously amazed by the amount of engagement and growth in the elearning space.
Prior to joining the company, I received a bachelors in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While in college, I held several part time jobs where I had to take elearning courses as part of my training. While I admit that taking sexual harassment training was not the most entertaining activity in the world, I learned the importance of compliance and professional development as a part of employee growth.
Learning is valuable for any professional, and I love to share my enthusiasm of learning with others. I take a lot of pride in furthering my own development as a young professional. Some of my most valuable development opportunities have included a three day body language and nonverbal communication course with Vanessa Edwards, reading “How to Win Friends and Influence Others” to practice Dale Carnegie's theories at work, and pitching at Portland Start-Up Weekend. I collaborated with a group of entrepreneurs to launch one of PDXSW 2013’s winning companies: FreezePup, frozen treats for people and their dogs.
In addition to working at OpenSesame, I am also a professional actor and performer with more than 10 years of experience on the stage. I have appeared in productions with Broadway Rose Theatre Company, Lakewood Center for the Arts, and Idyllwild Arts Academy. Several of my favorite credits include Cats, Spamalot, and White Christmas. I will appear in The Rocky Horror Picture Show later this year in Portland, OR.
I am grateful to be a part of a fast growing company like OpenSesame. My colleagues and senior management are some of the most intelligent and bright leaders I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. Being immersed in OpenSesame’s development over the last few years is an invaluable experience, and I am excited to watch the company grow and flourish for years to come.
