Course of the Week: Hazard Communication GHS Update
Since 1983, the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) has educated employers and employees on proper usage, containment and cleanup of chemicals in the workplace. The recent adoption of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) builds upon the work of HCS, creating a more standardized approach to labeling and determining what hazardous effects a chemical poses.
If your company works with hazardous chemicals, the adoption of GHS means a fast approaching deadline for training employees. By December 1, 2013, OSHA is requiring all employees handling hazardous materials must be trained on the new GHS label elements and safety data sheet (SDS).
Fortunately it pays to be early, which is why our Course of the Week offer through September 18 is for 50% off the "Hazard Communication GHS Update" by CDT Micrographics. The course covers the major changes and their benefits, as well as training on SDS, in order to meet the training compliance deadline.
With the deadline quickly approaching, this is also a great time to brush up your employee's knowledge of general HCS guidelines to prevent workplace injuries or accidents. CDT provides two bundles with more than five hours of information on HCS: Hazard Communication Series One and Two.
Avoid rushing to meet the GHS training deadline by taking advantage of this week's course offering – Hazard Communication GHS Update – for only $6.50 per user.
